Key Points of the Project
The project follows a comprehensive set of measures that combine ecological renaturation, scientific research, and public engagement. The goal is to strengthen natural habitats, generate scientific knowledge, and raise awareness of nature and wildlife.
(1) Renaturation and Careful Regulation:
By refraining from hunting and limiting human activity, a protected refuge for wildlife is created. Targeted renaturation measures, implemented by the project holder since 2005, restore natural habitats and promote biodiversity. Gentle, ecologically oriented livestock grazing supports landscape management and contributes to ecological stability.
(2) Scientific Documentation and Participatory Research:
The behavior and movements of wildlife are recorded and analyzed through camera traps and regular observations. Research includes studies on changes in animal behavior as well as on the social effects influencing people’s perception and attitudes toward nature. Visitors are invited to gain insights into the scientific work – and actively participate – through participatory research approaches and accompanying exhibitions.
(3) Public Outreach and Awareness-Building:
Results and progress of the project are shared with a broad public through blog updates, images, stories, and scientific reports.
Exclusive content for donors provides additional insights and strengthens their connection to the project.
